U.S. average retail gasoline prices edged up in the past two weeks as oil prices rose and demand increased after motorists' lengthy aversion to sky-rocketing pump prices, according to the latest nationwide Lundberg survey on Sunday.
The average national price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was $1.9625 a gallon on March 6, up 1.82 cents per gallon in the past two weeks, according to the survey of gas stations.
The average price has risen about 30 cents from a recent bottom on Dec. 19, but is still $2.15 below the all-time high of $4.1124 a gallon set last July 11. The current gasoline price is also down $1.23 from the same period last year. more...
