Business Times Malaysia April palm stocks at 22-month low

Malaysian crude palm oil stocks in April fell 5.37 per cent to 1,292,303 tonnes from a revised 1,365,582 tonnes in March, industry regulator the Malaysian Palm Oil Board said today.

The stock levels were the lowest since June 2007, data showed.

The decline was greater than market expectations for a 4.7 per cent drop to 1.30 million tonnes in a Reuters poll last week.

Meanwhile, cargo surveyor Intertek Testing Services said today. exports of Malaysian palm oil products for May 1-10 rose 1 per cent to 403,934 tonnes from 399,703 tonnes shipped between April 1 and 10. - Reuters
