March 28 (Bloomberg) -- Protestors are trying to block shipping at the port of Newcastle, Australia’s biggest export harbor for coal, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
The protestors, who are connected with an environmental group, are on the water with about 60 rafts, kayaks and boats, and want to shut the terminal for one day, the radio network reported. There is also a strong police presence, the ABC reported.
