· Due to less effective work days amid Ied Fitr holiday, several motorcycle producers expect that September 2W sales volume could decrease as much as 20% MoM from August.
· From initial data, the August 2W sales volume is expected to reach 731,921 units as four major brands managed to post an increase despite fasting season. Honda (ASII, Rp55,200, Buy) recorded a new record high with 350,669 units (+4.8% MoM) of 2W sold last month. Such increase also occurred in Yamaha (+4.4% MoM), Suzuki (+5.9% MoM) and Kawasaki (+6.3% MoM).
· We still wait for full details on domestic 2W sales volume for August to obtain a clearer picture on the domestic 2W market.
· Nevertheless, such potential decrease in September is already expected as previous years have also a recorded a decline due to holiday season. Despite such decrease, 2010F’s total 2W sales volume is likely to post new record high of above 7mn units.
