U.S. stocks rebounded late on Monday to end flat. The three major U.S. stock indexes had fallen more than 1 percent before rallying in the last hour of trading, led by bank shares. What we're seeing is investors, both institutional and individuals, looking at dips as an opportunity to buy.
Most Southeast Asian stock markets gave up early gains on Monday, with CapitaLand and other big caps leading Singapore to a 1-week low, and weaker bank shares pushing Indonesia and Thailand lower. So now, in line with the regional markets, it's just a consolidation.
The Jakarta index JCI dropped 1.1 percent to 2056.6 points, after earlier rising to 2099.08, it’s highest since September 4.
Crude oil fell for a second day, following global equities lower, as a stronger dollar. Crude oil for July delivery fell 35 cents, or 0.5 percent, to settle at $68.09 a barrel. Crude oil is set to “spike” without new investments and a price surge is in the making.
Nickel for delivery in three-months on the LME fell 3.1 percent to $14,150 a ton.
May palm oil stocks may drop 2.3 per cent to a 23-month low as exports and domestic demand were slightly higher than output.
Still maintain positive outlook on our market. It's a healthy consolidation because the market has gone up a lot in the past two months.
Continue on mining and coal
ANTM: potential upside from its gold mines. The nickel price is on a recovery, touching the USD14,500/ton level, additional demand may come in from marginals players coming on line again and if it touches USD16,000/tone.
As we expect recovery in global economy will have positive impact on global coal demand, thus impacting price as well. We are very like coal sector from now. Our Top Pick for Coal Sector was PTBA, ADRO, ITMG and BUMI.
We continue to recommend ANTM, TINS, INCO, BBNI, BBRI, PTBA, BUMI, DEWA, BNBR, PGAS and INDF with Buy on Lower. Hold or short-term reduce for property especially on CTRA and SMRA.
"YOU'RE STILL SEEING BUYERS OUT THERE"
